CERN Control Centre & the ATLAS control room

During my traineeship at CERN, we visited the CERN Control Centre and the ATLAS Control Room. If ATLAS is the brain of discovery — this is the nervous system.
- Continuous monitoring of the entire accelerator complex
- Real-time control of particle beams
- Safety supervision of LHC operations
- Live experiment data tracking
- Coordination between global research teams
The LHC doesn't simply "run" — it is carefully managed, calibrated and supervised 24/7. Large-scale science depends on precision, coordination, redundancy, real-time decisions and cross-border collaboration. This is where physics becomes execution.
