Visiting ATLAS during my CERN IdeaSquare traineeship

During my CERN IdeaSquare traineeship (an Erasmus+ programme in Geneva), we visited the ATLAS Experiment — one of the largest and most sophisticated particle detectors in the world, operating at the Large Hadron Collider.
ATLAS played a crucial role in the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, and today it continues investigating dark matter candidates, supersymmetry and physics beyond the Standard Model.
Standing near a detector built by thousands of scientists across the globe reminded me: science at this scale is never individual. It's global collaboration in action.
