When the best choice stops being best — a research paper from CERN IdeaSquare

We presented our research at the RTU Alumni Young Researchers Conference #1: "When the best choice stops being best — a dynamic AHP case study from CERN IdeaSquare."
Traditional decision frameworks like AHP pick a winner once and lock it in. But in dynamic environments, the best choice today might not be the best choice next month. We built a functional-weight Dynamic AHP model that tracks shifting criteria weights over time and analytically computes the exact moment one alternative overtakes another — the switch point.
Case study: the i2Planet 2026 workshop at CERN IdeaSquare, where teams decided which satellite services to preserve under a 55–66% orbital reduction scenario. Three evaluation rounds. Eight service categories. Four criteria. Three switch points discovered. Static AHP would have missed them all.
